Your past is your past
It certainly can’t change
No matter what stories you tell
Or how they’re arranged.
Even if you lie and give it a twist.
Your past is your past
And you’ll always know this.
But hark! I have a message for you
Your past may not define what you do
In your present or future
Where you have control
You can start moving forward if you just let it go!
Stop dragging around your burdens so slow!
If you want to make progress,
If you wish to be free
Then stop what you’re doing,
And listen to me:
Nothing in life is certain.
You can live behind a vail, but that curtain—
That curtain may hide what you don’t want others to see, but it will also enslave you because how can you be free?
If you can’t see?
The curtain that shields you is a serpentine.
It will give you an apple you expect to be sweet, but as soon as you bite you can lose everything.
So try and remember what I have to say:
Live life to it’s fullest and enjoy everything.
If someone can’t accept you then just walk away.
Sometimes it’s better to have nothing to say.
Forget your past and start over today.
